Associate Certified Coach (ACC) Credential-holders are trained (60+ hours) and experienced (100+ hours) coaches. They have demonstrated knowledge and emerging proficiency in the application of the ICF Core Competencies, Code of Ethics, and definition of coaching. Earners show a commitment to high ethical standards and have demonstrated, through rigorous assessment, professional competence in their work with clients. The ACC must be renewed every three years.

My Story

As I approached my retirement, I reflected on whether or not my career was a success. My bank account allowed me to support myself and my family, however, I was not satisfied to let my bank account determine as to whether or not I had a successful career. What became very clear to me was that helping people was far more important to me than anything else as the barometer of just how successful I was. What was also clear to me was the fact that this measurement of success applied in my personal life as well as my professional life.

Reflecting on my 43-year career in the business world it occurred to me that, more than anything else, I was a coach. I wanted everyone that worked for our company to be successful. I wanted them to feel supported, encouraged and appreciated. My boss/mentor/friend always exhibited those qualities and values and it was quite natural for me to emulate those behaviors.

My life purpose is to make a positive difference in the world around me. I became interested in Life Coaching a number of years ago as a way for me to continue to provide help and have a positive influence in my community. I have been trained in Co-Active Coaching through The Co-Active Training Institute.

Gordon McKinnon brings over four decades of experience in leadership and operations management across diverse industries. For 32 years, he served as a Partner and Vice President/General Manager at Lockwood/McKinnon Co., where he played a pivotal role in steering the company's strategic growth and operational excellence. His leadership was instrumental in establishing Lockwood/Friedman's presence and success in theatre operations across six states during his 11-year tenure as Director of Operations.

Transitioning seamlessly into the realm of personal development, Gordon has spent the past four years as a Life Coach at Coaching Life Unlimited, a practice he owns. Through Coaching Life Unlimited, Gordon leverages his extensive leadership experience to empower individuals to achieve their personal and professional goals.
